WVCA Members Present at CommUNITY Growth Summit

On March 30, several WVCA members, including board president Greg Robinson, spoke on a panel about the role institutional capital plays in developing a community’s economy and innovation ecosystem.

This is the second year of gener8tor’s annual CommUNITY Growth Summit, a two-day seminar of keynotes and presentations focused on bringing together hundreds of civic and government leaders, startups, corporate executives, nonprofit leaders, community builders, creatives and students who are interested in evolving their community.

Robinson (Managing Director at 4490 Ventures) was joined by Carrie Thome (Managing Director at NVNG Investment Advisors), Sarah Godlewski (Wisconsin State Treasurer), Chris Prestigiacomo (Portfolio Manager at the State of Wisconsin Investment Board), Dan Counsell (President & CEO at White Family Investments) and Precious Drew (Managing Director at gener8tor).

The panel spoke on their experience as funders of professional venture funds and the benefits of an investor base of both financial and strategically motivated investors. Each member offered sound advice from their career.
